The Illinois home lacked an office or den, so I had to find a place to cut out a workspace. The wall adjoining our living room and hallway worked out to be the best spot. The old coat closet we didn’t need as a coat closet, since we had others so I turned it into office storage. This worked out well because I was connected to the rest of the house and could tuck work away easily. The back of the closet door served for my inspiration board. I made some smart storage with the cubes below the desk and had my filing system tucked away in there. The desk could easily double as an entry way table since it was the first thing you saw when you entered our home.
