The room we used as a master bedroom in our Illinois home was on the smaller side. It was basically an empty shell when we started with it. We painted the walls a rich charcoal and light gray to start. I painted the ceiling the same light gray as the walls. We installed crown moulding and new baseboards. The light gray linen drapes we hung from the top of the wall to the baseboard. ,The only other install we did was the chandelier. I kept the rest of the room pretty simple. Grasscloth panels on each side of the bed and wall lamps, simple border bedding, and white thrifted furniture. To warm things up, I decided on a mid-century lowboy dresser which works because it is slim and doesn’t take up too much space around the bed. I monogram all my linens so naturally our pillows got our monogram. The banana leaf print pillows and light blush pink throw add a pop of color and pattern to this soothing space.
