ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THIS SPACE
NEED #1 Window coverings. The windows are all naked. People can see us at night, enough said.
NEED #2 A new paint job. The paint on the walls has a matte finish and doesn’t clean-up well, so we need to remedy that.
NEED #3 More furniture. This home has more rooms and more square footage than our last house, so that requires more furniture. We’ll be moving a few things to other parts of the house that are empty and need seating. Then, we’ll add in some new furniture pieces that fit the design.
NEED #4 Better lighting. Without ceiling fixtures and sconces, we only have lamp light at night and it is really dark. It’s not in our budget to rewire the house right now, so we will be adding in taller lamps and picture lighting to at least add some levels of light at night.

Dave and I are doing all the work ourselves on this one. Something about working on this house together has put a little spring in our step lately. I feel like I did when we bought our first tiny, TINY house when we first got married. We hardly had anything back then, but we made it work and had a blast making that home ours.
We just started to install the wallpaper and we finished painting the walls in the living room over the weekend. I’m sharing on Instagram stories and you can follow here: @blissathome1 Also, you can follow the hashtag #oneroomchallenge and see a whole bunch of inspiration from all the bloggers joining in this round.
I’ll have quite the update for you next week. I love to see the process, not just the pretty after, so I hope you enjoy following along on our makeover. Dave and I make a pretty good team these days on home projects, but who knows what little hiccups will happen in the weeks ahead. There is always at least one!
I look forward to sharing the progress with you! See you back here Thursday!
