I love a good before and after, don’t you? Today, I am sharing Part Two of our Bathroom Remodel: the shower makeover.
I like to find ways to add a little luxury into the spaces I work on and I really achieve that through the details. I am happy to have partnered with Homewerks on part of this makeover and we have a fab giveaway for B@H readers at the end of this post so you can add a little luxury into your bathroom too.
We had tackled Phase One of our Bathroom Remodel and you can see the first before and after here. Here’s a photo to refresh your memory of the finished product from the first half of this reveal:
We gutted this entire room and did it all. New marble floors, new plumbing, new lighting, a custom DIY wall treatment, and all new bath fixtures.
Phase Two of this makeover, is making over the shower and tub basin.
Here’s the Before:
Are you ready for the After?
Here’s a closer look and my tips for how I brought a little luxury into our shower and bath time…
Add in marble.
Carrara marble always says luxury to me. It has a richness that is timeless and paired with the pristine newly white tub basin it has a very polished look. We’ll talk epoxy later…
A massaging shower head.
I would also recommend a massaging shower head like the one we installed. Different settings offer each person in our family to customize the shower to their preferences.
Chic storage and aromatherapy bath products.
Another luxurious touch is something so simple. Aromatherapy bath products with essential oils make your shower or bath time feel like spa time. Scented candles are also a nice touch and can relax you in the bath for a soothing retreat. I also love built-in storage in the shower, and we added in these corner marble shelves to hold our products. More marble…yes.
Pipe in music.
Now the pièce de résistance the Home Netwerks™ Bluetooth® Bath Fan & Speaker. My friends, this is more than a bath fan! It plays music! YEEEEESSSS. It has Bluetooth® capability so you can sync your device and have quality sound in the shower. You can rock out in the AM and relax in the PM with your favorite music. I’m addicted to my Spotify playlists, so I am so stoked I can listen to them in the bathroom now! The sound system is on a waterproof remote, so when you are in the shower you can adjust the volume or play with the settings.
It has 5 settings that offer you to operate the light alone, the fan, the nightlight, or the fan and light with music, or just the light with music. You can control the settings with the wall dial that comes with your fan. The light and nightlight are LED.
The installation is simple, but you have to make sure you have the correct wiring to your fan to run all the features. We did have to add more wiring and run it to our switch since we live in an older home. Luckily, Dave used to be an electrician so no extra expertise was needed. I am going to spare you photos of him laying on his stomach in our cramped attic… in the heat…trying to avoid insulation. He must really love me…that’s all I got to say!
If you don’t need to run new wire, it really is as simple as taking out your old exhaust fan and popping in the new one. You just have to cut a larger hole for it since it is bigger than the average fan. Before you clip on the cover, you just attach the wires together.
Here’s a few more particulars about the Home Networks™ Bluetooth® Fan & Speaker:
– Connects to most Bluetooth® enabled smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
– After initial set-up the fan pairs automatically to your device when in range of the speaker.
– Two stereo speakers are integrated directly into the bath fan, so there’s no need to recharge.
– This bath fan is quiet! Only 1.5 Sones which is a significant upgrade from standard-grade fans and generates powerful air movement of 90 CFM. Honest to God, it is so quiet I didn’t think it was on the first time I used it until I saw the steam leaving the room.

Good luck in the giveaway and I hope you enjoyed the final reveal of our bathroom renovation! Little details just make this space feel luxurious even though it is a smaller bathroom. I feel like it whispers…”And though she be but little, she is fierce!”
*Had to throw a little Shakespeare in there.
I’ll be sharing more details of this bathroom makeover in the days ahead. Oh, and you better believe I will be enjoying that long anticipated soak in the tub very, very soon!
You can see all the big reveal photos of the first part of this bathroom makeover here.
Woah, part two is done. You know what that means?? Dave and Kristy get to mark another room off the renovation list!!!!! That’s cause for celebration around here! I like how our gold and marble goddess turned out. I think it’s a real testament to how classics like marble can look current and it also shows it’s okay to mix your metals.
