Spray Paint Table Makeover

Good Morning! I hope you all had a great weekend!! We were busy working on the house per usual, but enjoyed a day of celebration on Easter.

Today, I am sharing a table makeover I just finished. I found this little table at a resale shop for $7 a couple of years back. The finish had some water damage, but the caning was perfect.

Last year, I spray painted it to add a pop of color. Now, the color wasn’t working for me, and I wanted to change things up again.

I used the same spray paint as before, Valspar Paint + Primer In One Interior/Exterior Spray Paint in Gloss. I really like this spray paint for little projects like this, because it gives a nice even finish and is easy to recoat. The high gloss finish is perfect for a high-end look. I choose black because I always feel like I circle back to black and white pieces. I just love the contrast. You should definitely have some black furniture in your life!

B@H The hardware I just love! These little lion ring pulls from D Lawless Hardware are the perfect size for an accent table like this.

I feel like I breathed some new life into my little table and gave it a little RAWR!!

The black looks great – I’m such a fan of black painted furniture. A classic. The pulls are awesome too! Might be just what I’ve been looking for a little chest makeover I’m planning.

What if I were doing a “sturdier” table…wooden. Would you still go with the gloss or use a more flat paint? It already has hard wear on it, so I would just need to cover with tape before spraying? Did you sand prior to painting? Thanks so much!!

Hi Casey, I really can’t answer that without actually seeing the table. Also, I wouldn’t spray paint a larger piece of furniture unless using a paint sprayer. In the instructions on this post, I show what I used to sand the piece I painted.

I love your comments!!!
