Inspired Design Challenge >>> Week 2 Urban Outfitters

Today, we are revealing our Week 2 Urban Outfitters projects! So, lets’ get right to it!

Inspired Design Challenge

As I revealed last Friday, my project is based off this Urban Outfitters image:

Did you guess right? I wanted to copy cat this for our patio makeover. I found a metal birdcage at Goodwill for a couple bucks. I’ve actually had this on hand since last fall, but it needed a new home.

If you’ve been seeing my teasers on Instagram you know that our patio makeover is bright. So, I chose to use flourescent pink spray paint.

After a couple coats I added a grocery store citronella candle to the base and it was ready for the patio. This only cost me $7 total for everything.

Now let’s see what Angie, Jennifer, Lindsay, and Sara came up with!

Looks nice. Although I am rather drawn to the table runner. It is very pretty.

How did you find that spray paint? I’ve tried that exact brand/colour on multiple projects and it’s failed every time. It seems to have really, really bad coverage, which is strange because usually rustoleum is great.

I got it at Home Depot. I just did two light coats and it covered fine. I wonder why it wouldn’t work for you. Strange, maybe a bad batch? xo Kristin

That’s the paint I used for my knobs of the MCM dresser, so of course I love it! So fabulous, bright and fun!

Sometimes things in a thrift store are so great, they deserve a happy dance. Your birdcage is one of them :-)

I LOVE this! So cute, and your patio looks great! For some reason, it’s the last thing we get to around here. I think because we don’t get to spend more than a few months outside. When I DO get around to it, you’ve given me inspiration! I’m loving the red/orange/pink combo!!

    XO,

I know how that goes. We have practically an entire house to rehab and we do everything ourselves so it is slow-going. The patio area is nice but our front yard is a wreck. We need some serious curb appeal. We will get to it one of these days! xo Kristin
