Week in Review: Organizing, Spring Color, Office Plans, & More

It has been a gloomy week weather-wise in these parts.  The rain has washed most of the snow away and it is just gray. Then it was just cold and snowed off and on again but nothing stuck. It’s been a great excuse to get some things organized around here. Thank you for all your kind words on our new site and layout. You guys are the best!  If you want to see a new post about it click here. Here’s our weekly recap so grab your coffee and enjoy!

After: A Pop of Color

On Thursday I shared my latest color obsession for spring. I love this pop of blue in our bedroom. Bright and cheery!  To see more click here.

On the horizon…

This weekend we’ve kicked around a couple of things. A possible day trip to a town we love or working on the kitchen some more. I vote day trip! Dave and I must discuss. We shall see…

I am also going to be moving some furniture around to accommodate my little desk. Here’s how indecisive I am about the office situation: First, I was going to make an office space in our basement family room. Then, I opted for it to be in the kitchen. One morning, I thought I’ll just move the guest room downstairs and make that my office. Now, I am toying with having it in our bedroom or living room upstairs. I’ve finally settled on this idea:  that I really only need a desk and chair since I blog on my laptop and that we will have the family computer downstairs with the printer, etc. I like the idea of keeping it upstairs and having it blend in with our surroundings and not look like an office.

Here’s my inspiration:

The first image wins me over.

And as chances are…

I found the perfect lamp on an impromptu Goodwill stop.

Thursday, I played around and finally settled on the desk in the living room. Boy, do I have my work cut out for me! I have a desk to paint and make fabulous,  an awesome Goodwill lamp to fix, and two ottomans to reupholster and other little things to make it how I want it. It will be fun and of course I’ll be blogging those projects soon!

And Look! I actually blogged from my new UNFINISHED workspace the other day. YAY!

If you want to see lots of photos of my cute kids, the food I eat, clothes I wear, Dave and his obsession with buying old projectors, or glimpses of upcoming projects I invite you to connect on Instagram.

I mean, why wouldn’t you want to see all that, right?

I wish you all a fabulous weekend and the office drama is to be continued….

  1. I love the idea of having a work space in your living space! Since our house is all open and we don’t have a designated “office”, I always wanted to add a small desk to our living room so I could do the same. Maybe I’ll get around to it…one day haha!

    • It is working. Today I consider it a success. Just add it onto the never end list of to-do’s, right? That’s what I do. I think it would work perfect in your space :) Happy weekend Gabbi! xo Kristin

  2. I can’t wait to see your new office space (the pics for inspiration you shared are so beautiful) , I think it’s very clever of you adding an office that will blend with your decor! I used to have a desk in our living room but with my little one I had to remove it, we would reach for everything; maybe when he will get older! :-) Happy weekend Kristin!

    • Thanks, Ingrid :) We are finally past the point of little fingers always getting into everything. A whole new world of design! Have a great weekend! xo Kristin

  3. You got a lot done this week! Can’t wait to see how your office space turns out. Your kitchen organization zone is gorgeous AND functional. Great feat! Thanks for always inspiring. :)

    • Thanks, Sarah :) I am always amazed when I do a week in review or a month in review and see all that got done. Sometimes it seems like everything is moving in slow motion! Have a great weekend! xo Kristin

    • Did the metallics, and high contrast give it away, haha! Have a great weekend with your family Julia! xo Kristin

    • Thanks, Linda :) Hopefully in a few weeks it will be better conditions. I have a garage full of projects awaiting me. Have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping over. xo Kristin

    • Thanks, Kelly :) I am happy to have it in the living room now. Once I’m done making over some items I think it will blend nicely with the rest of the room. That first pic is definitely the direction I’m going. Have a great weekend! xo Kristin
