“Why, yes I have a dresser in my kitchen.”

P1090349

Good Morning! I love to re-purpose old furniture we have had for a while. This dresser used to be in my son’s room, then it was in our guest room, then it was in the foyer, but now it is going to help me stay organized in our kitchen.

The problem: Our main point of  access into our home is off the garage. Our access door from the garage goes right into a 3×3 1/2 ft. entry [tight squeezeAHHHH] and then leads right into our kitchen. In a perfect world, we would have a mudroom for everyone to enter and dump backpacks, shoes, etc…

So, part of the solution is the coat rack we built. For instructions click here.

The coat rack is great, but we still have the issue of mail, keys, phones, iPods, important papers, and the list goes on. So, this 5 drawer dresser is exactly what we needed here. A place for the phone chargers, extra light, and above a key rack, and 5 drawers of storage below.

The wipe off calendar fits nicely above to help me keep on task. Nice and tidy, just the way I like it!

Also, I just had to share how cute these little journals are. They come in a 3-pack for next to nothing at Target. They don’t have them online; they are in-store only. I don’t know about you, but I am a list maker, note taker, and if an idea comes to me I need to write it down–STAT ! This one I use for my blog ideas and details.

Happy Organizing! I only say that because when I see a fellow blogger post about organization I get the sudden urge to go get things in order!

Looks wonderful and is exactly the right size for the space. My mother has a dresser in her dining room. Holds silverware, table linens, flower vases, etc and doubles as a buffet server when our ever-growing family is “home for the holidays.”

Oh, Wendy, I love that! My china cabinet is also in my kitchen/dining area. Small spaces pose challenges, but I think they make you really creative! xo Kristin
