Some of you may remember this lamp from my goodwillhuntingkristy blog. Well, I felt it was time for a makeover. I have an office makeover coming up and thought this would make a great desk lamp.
The pearlized seafoam just wasn’t the look I was going for so…DA….DA, DA ,DAAAA… time for a facelift! The shape is nice and size is right for a desk so here we go…
SUPPLY LIST:
Rustoleum Laquer Paint in white
painter’s tape
plastic wrap
STEP 1: PREP IT!
STEP 2: SPRAY AWAY!!!
Just in case you haven’t already met, I want to introduce you to Rustoleum Lacquer Spray Paint. I am a big fan of this stuff, especially for small jobs like this. You do not need to prime your surface and it goes on easy and smooth. You spray multiple coats right away and the dry time is quick. It really does give you a professional finish! Just spray evenly and make sure you do light coats until you achieve the coverage you want. I love the glossy result.
Before & After…
I don’t know about you, but I love the after. This is going to work great for the office makeover. The total cost for this lamp update:
goodwill lamp $5. 38 + spray paint $4.98 + lamp shade $8.98= under $20!
I’ve shopped for lamps like this and would have to pay a lot more than $20 for this style.
Let’s see that again!
This will be included in the office makeover that will be featured in July. It’s going to be blissful!!!

Absolutely love it.
Thanks so much!
Looks good!
Thanks, Sarah!
Love the lamp! What a beautiful updated look! White is so fresh, also the favric for your pin board gave me new inspiration! I found this 7.00 all glass hourglass modern lamp with a tall white shade at Salvation Army in San Diego that I loved! Aside from the bottom having a rubberized piece that was loose my bright idea was to unscrew it, well I broke a piece if the glass so then I decided to put white rocks at the bottom which covered it up great! When our movers packed our things, they had to remove the rocs and when I tried to reassemble it my self here, 5 inches of glass shattered from the rocks while trying to screw it back in. A gorgeous lamp that would of cost a 100.00 or more gone!
Jeni, thank you so much! I’m glad that it inspired you
That is exactly why I started this blog. I did it on a whim, I love design and DIY so much I wanted to join a group of bloggers that shared the same passion. So sad about your lamp, maybe you can find another diamond in the rough soon. Thanks for reading and nice to meet you.
